Old Stone tree in Ooty Bottanical Garden has been replaced by New stone tree

Old Stone Tree  has been transformed as new Stone Tree at Government Bottanical Garden in Ooty.The tourists come here to visit  new stone tree.

Bottanical Garden created during the period of British government.There are about Two thousand plants were brought from abroad to this garden.There is also Tissue culture research centre in this garden.

Bottanical Garden is one of the finest tourist destination in Nilgiris. One Part of a 20 million old Stone tree is present in this garden.Now that old stone tree has been replaced by new one ,which is presented by the Chennai Geological Survey.

The Co-Director of Horticulture Department Mr.Mani said ,The trees which present at 20 millions ago were buried into the soil and it becomes rock-forms.It is very useful to examine and to do research about geographical area.

These type of stone trees found at Thiruvakarai area of Thennarkadu in Tamilnadu.It has been declared as National StoneTree Park.The stone tree currently present in Ooty Bottanical Garden has losen its Nature,So old Stone tree is replaced by New stone tree which is presented by the Central Geological Survey,Chennai.
