The planting works has started yesterday in Coonoor Kattery park
Yearly new flower plants being planted for a first and second season.There are a large number of tourists will visit the Nilgiri District during the month of April and May.Thus it has planned to plant new flower plants in Coonoor Kattery Park to attract the tourists.
Planting works have started at battery park for the forthcoming summer season.Planting works of one lakh thirty thousand new flower plants has started yesterday.The Assistant Director of Coonoor Horticulture Department Mr Gopalan inaugurated the planting ceremony.There are 18 different types of flower plants including Delia, pikkoniya, Mary Gold, Pilasse, fancy and Salvia planted in this park. The flowers will start to bloom at next month i.e on the second week of April.
The seeds had brought from various other states including Jammu Kashmir and West Bengal and also from other countries such as France, German and Netherland.The seedlings were produced by these seeds.Currently, those seedlings have planted at Kattery Park.The horticulture people said,"There are various steps taken to protect the plants from the sun."
