Century-Old Wellington Lake

Since the mid of the Summer Season, the Number of tourist to coonoor and its surroundings increases rapidly. 

There is a Century- Old lake is located at Baracs in Coonoor, which is not maintained for a long period of time. The MRC army Center and Cantonment Executive Department has decided to make it as a Tourist place. 

Three years ago, this Lake was developed and opened with boat-ride facility for the sake of the tourist people.

At the early stage the people allowed inside without any entry fees.  Now Rs.10 is charged as entrance fee and Rs. 20 is charged for boat- riding. It is advisable to use life-jackets before riding.

The children’s park situated near the lake, which is entertaining the kids very well. The number of visitors increasing day by day.The parking facility and canteen is available inside the Wellington Lake.
